The Last Yakuza

What might seem contradictory, at first glance, or even absurd, has its roots in the development of the Yakuza. The origins of the Yakuza date back more than 400 years into the early years of the Edo period (1603 to 1868).

The work of the ZDF Enterprises Coproduction Department can be divided into three main task areas:

Conducting the entire negotiation process for active and passive coproduction projects involving ZDF or ZDF Enterprises and international partners
Identifying projects with worldwide market potential within ZDF’s portfolio, from the German or international TV market, securing the world rights for these productions and subsequently searching for suitable international coproduction partners.
Identifying projects with significant market potential for German-speaking areas, from the international TV market, securing the German language rights (and in certain circumstances other rights) for these productions and subsequently searching for suitable coproduction partners from the relevant territories.

In such matters ZDF Enterprises generally acts on behalf of ZDF but may also be active on its own account.
