Since 1999 ZDF Enterprises has held a participating interest in Kinderfilm, which is based in Erfurt, via Studio.TV.Film. The philosophy behind the commercial operations of Kinderfilm is the desire to produce high-quality media for children and young people, in all formats and genres - ranging from magazine features for television to cinema films - in central Germany.
Kinderfilm functions both as a service provider and as a creative production company; therefore commissioned productions for KI.KA, ZDF and MDR are just as much part of its portfolio as in-house material and project development for television and cinema.
